RIC WALKINGTON - PRODUCER
Ric Walkington began his career in the theatre as
a stage hand in Montreal Canada. Working up through the ranks, Ric has
been a lighting designer in theatre, live concert sound engineer, studio
recording engineer and a performing musician.
Moving to Vancouver in 1982, Ric continued with the
"live side of things" as the General Manager of Kelly Deyong
Concert Sound Services. Ric was responsible for the technical direction
and production of over 2,500 live events.
In 1986 Ric made the jump into film as an assistant
Production Manager. Since then, he has worked "both sides of the
desk" in order to better understand the whole of film production.
In Film, Ric has extensive experience as a Property
Master which has given him a very real understanding of the requirements
of production and has given him the ability to see through the "fog
of war" that can sometimes be found \'on-set\'.
As budget and development estimator for Infinity Features
and International Keystone Entertainment, Ric has been involved with such
diverse projects as "Air Bud", "Behind Enemy Lines",
"Just Friends", "Capote", and many others
As post production manager for the Feature Films "Air
Bud", "Air Bud: Golden Receiver" and "Hoods",
Ric has had to budget and manage feature films through the post production
process.
While working as a Unit Production Manager, Ric has
also been challenged by remote filming and tight schedules.
Filming in New York City, Los Angeles, Vancouver,
Victoria, and throughout Saskatchewan and the Canadian Maritime region,
has given Ric a real understanding of production requirements in a variety
of circumstances.
